Audience Comments Overheard During The Interpol Show In Philadelphia:

“It reminds me of high school.”

“I have MP3s of two of their songs. Oh wait, this is one of them. This is the one where he says ‘The subway is a porno.’”

“No, I do want the wristband. Of course I want to drink.”

“My girlfriend and I used to see Carlos out all the time at clubs in New York. He was a total mod.”
Carlos Dengler is Interpol’s bassist.

“They’re like ... I don’t know. Like they should be on the Pretty In Pink soundtrack.”

“She looks good in that art-school dress, but she’s gonna freeze once she gets outside.”
It was snowing the night of the show.

“Is the keyboardist wearing a wig?”
The keyboardist was not wearing a wig.

“I’m going to go talk to my friends now.”

“I know what you mean about his lyrics. Like the song ‘PDA.’ What’s that supposed to be? Personal Desktop Assistant or Public Display of Affection?”

“No. I mean, how would they do that? You just can’t take an iron in the van with you. There’s nowhere to plug it in. They just keep them on hangers.”
In response to speculation about how the band members’ suits stay unwrinkled.

“I think they’re done now because they’ve played all their songs.”
