From The Desk Of Albert Hammond Jr.: Reading

Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. just released his third album, Momentary Masters (Vagrant/BMG). Now sober, married and living in upstate New York, Hammond has made his finest solo effort to date. We asked him to guest edit magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our new MAGNET Feedback feature with him.

Reading

Hammond: I mix my reading with something adventurous and something learned. Like right now, I’m reading a Robert Ludlum book: The Matarese Countdown, which is the sequel to The Matarese Circle. So much fun. I’m also starting Sapiens: A Brief History Of Humankind. Sounds very exciting! Can’t wait to get into that. Now with iBooks, I have some of my favorites highlighted and marked. The Prophet being my favorite to do this with. My favorite quote is: “And in much of your talking, thinking is half murdered. For thought is a bird of space, that in a cage of words may indeed unfold its wings but cannot fly.”
