Liars are currently in the studio finishing up their as-yet-untitled seventh album, which will be released by Mute in March … American Laundromat has announced plans for a Wes Anderson tribute album, I Saved Latin!, to be released in the spring. It will feature artists (including Black Francis, Juliana Hatfield, Freelance Whales, Matt Pond, Elk City and many more) covering songs from the director’s acclaimed films … On January 14, a Mark Lanegan anthology, Has God Seen My Shadow? An Anthology 1989-2011, will be available from Light In The Attic Records … No Way There From Here is the new album by Laura Cantrell, due out January 28 via Thrift Shop … In celebration of the label’s 25th anniversary, Merge will reissue classic albums from its back catalog each month throughout 2014. First up is Lambchop’s 2000 record, Nixon, which will include a bonus disc of a live solo session recorded in 1998 … After being out of print for a decade, Lucinda Williams’ self-titled 1988 album will be reissued with bonus features January 14 via her own label in conjunction with Thirty Tigers … February 4 will see the release of the debut recording from Pat Metheny Unity Group, Kin (←→), from Nonesuch. The group will embark on a North American tour this winter in support … Always With Us, the new album from South African a capella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, will be out January 15 … The Idelsohn Society will release a two-disc package chronicling the musical confluence between Latinos and Jews, featuring names such as Eddie Palmieri, Celia Cruz, Carole King and more. It’s A Scream How Levine Does The Rhumba: The Latin-Jewish Musical Story 1940s-1980s is due out November 26.
