From The Desk Of Amanda Palmer: Elderflower Cordial

Amanda Palmer has been a busy lady. It’s been four years since her last record, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, and in the interim she’s been dabbling in all sorts of projects: business (you can read about her huge Kickstarter success), music (channeling her musical roots for her new album, Theatre Is Evil) and fun (adapting Neutral Milk Hotel for a high-school production). Palmer will also be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our brand new feature on her.

Palmer: I cannot say enough good things about the existence of elderflower cordial. I’m not a cooking person, and I’m not a make-fancy-drinks person. I make nothing. In fact, my kitchen at home contains only a few items: canned soup for middle-of-the-night emegencies, a bottle of soy sauce for when there isn’t enough soy sauce for leftover take-away sushi—and a case of elderflower cordial. It tastes like god, and you can use it in several ways. In plain water, it’s amazing—sweetens that shit right up and makes it delicious. In soda water, it makes a elderflowery-tasting soft drink not unlike a less chemically tasting Fresca. Thorncroft is the best.
