Phil Elverum is having an excellent 2012. This May, he released Clear Moon as Mount Eerie to critical acclaim. The video for one of its standout tracks, “The Place Lives,” shows why. As Elverum wanders through the woods, he’s surrounded by a wash of sound. While the music is soft and pensive, the percussion gives it a tense sense of urgency that wraps you up. As if one critical success wasn’t enough, Mount Eerie just released a second LP, Ocean Roar (P. W. Elverum & Sun). Watch “The Place Lives” below.
