Familiarity doesn’t necessarily breed contempt. Jen Schande‘s sound is fuzz-laden garage rock, and as a grungy female vocalist, she’ll draw comparisons to anyone from Cat Power to Veruca Salt. “Nice Fez,” off 19: Songs For And Inspired By Valencia Chapter 19 (S/R), sounds like something you’ve heard before, but you can’t quite put your finger on it.
