In this age of digital music, few bands come across as “mystic.” But that’s exactly the word to describe symphonic dream-pop band Carrousel. Started by Joel Piedt, the group worked on its debut album for more than two years. “Where Do We Go From Here” is a heart-racing swell of harmonies and strings, as an enchanting chorus of voices sings out softly and sweetly, with bracing emotional honesty. “14” has more of a folky vibe, but the vocal arrangements are equally as stunning. 27 Rue De Mi’chelle is out May 15.
