The Evaporators‘ clip for “Busy Doing Nothing!” is not so much a video as it is a slideshow of non-stop fun. The video, like the single itself, is a celebration of the good things in life, like crowdsurfing and funnel cake. It’s a montage of tour photos, including (very) extreme close-up shots of the rambunctious crowd. Onstage, the band members are dressed in quasi-luchador garb; most of their costumes show off their Canadian pride (the Evaporators hail from Vancouver). Their stop-motion approach to music videos puts you right there, in the crowd, jamming out with happy, sweaty strangers to your favorite band. “Busy Doing Nothing!” is off a vinyl-only compilation of the same name, out now via Mint and also featuring Andrew W.K., Franz Ferdinand, the Cribs, Sage Francis and more.
