Sumach Ecks, better known as Gonjasufi, made a big name for himself two years ago when he stepped out with debut album A Sufi And A Killer. In 2012, he’ll return with a mini-LP, MU.ZZ.LE, on January 24 via Warp. His new sound is darker and more threatening, as heard on tracks like “Nikels And Dimes.” Says Ecks, “It’s very emotional and dark, the record. It’s been a dark time of my life, probably the darkest, but I’ve been able to maneuver through that and turn the darkness into light.” Download “Nikels And Dimes” below.
