Surfer Blood released Astro Coast a couple of years ago, crafting an album that quintessentially represented the best parts of modern psych and garage rock and the hazy beach image. Terry Malts’ “Tumble Down,” off debut album Killing Time (Slumberland), achieves the same thing. Indeed, “Tumble Down” carries with it all the stereotypes of the alt-rock genre, including a gripping opening rift, awesome hooks and a chorus that may, unfortunately, be milked via television commercials in the near future.
