On May 10, Fire Records is issuing Alegrias, the latest release from Howe Gelb. Where 2006′s Sno’ Angel Like You saw the Giant Sand frontman mining gospel-choir territory, Alegrias, recorded with A Band Of Gypsies, finds Gelb exploring flamenco themes. The 13-track LP was recorded and originally released only in Spain, where A Band Of Gypsies guitarist Raimundo Amador (Björk, B.B. King) is a flamenco rock star.
