Rasputina‘s Great American Gingerbread: Rasputina Rarities And Neglected Items (Filthy Bonnet Recording Co.) is out April 5. As you might deduce from the title, it’s a collection of previously unreleased songs compiled by cello-wielding frontwoman (and former MAGNET guest editor) Melora Creager. Great American Gingerbread consists of a 14-track CD and a DVD featuring a live performance and Q&A recorded in 2002 at the Knitting Factory in NYC. Says Creager of the collection, “I know super-fans expected certain unreleased songs, but I wanted to surprise them with some totally unknown music—a look into how I create songs.
