Neil Young kicks off a three-week solo tour April 15 in Durham, N.C., in support of his latest release, the Grammy-winning Le Noise (Reprise) … The new Felice Brothers album, Celebration, Florida, is out May 10 via Fat Possum and will be supported by a seven-week headlining tour of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand starting March 25 in Oneonta, N.Y. (Oneonta: wonderful town. We spent a week there one night.) … Spiritualized has signed to the Fat Possum label, which will issue the band’s soon-to-be-completed seventh album this fall … Columbia Records is issuing Bruce Springsteen‘s The Promise: The Making Of Darkness On The Edge Of Town documentary May 3. The set will also include a five-song concert from last year as well as a 22-minute Q&A with fans … Yuck is one of our favorite new bands, so we’re excited to learn that frontman Daniel Blumberg is releasing an album by solo project Oupa. The seven-track Forget is due in June, though there’s no word yet on who’s putting it out … Loudon Wainwright III is readying a four-CD/one-DVD, career-spanning boxed set celebrating his impressive career. 40 Odd Years (out May 3 via Shout! Factory) includes a 40-page book with an intro by The 40-Year-Old Virgin writer/director Judd Apatow, who co-produced the 87-song set with Wainwright … Recorded in hotels and venues on Gorillaz‘s 19-date North American tour last fall, The Fall was then given away to members of the band’s fan club on Christmas. The 15-track album will be out on vinyl April 16 and on CD/digital download April 19 via Virgin Records … On June 21, Liam Finn is issuing Fomo (Yep Roc). In the meantime, check Finn out on his first-ever North American tour with a full band … In A Special Place, a 15-song collection of never-before-heard demos for the Waterboys‘ seminal 1985 album This Is The Sea, is out May 17 on Capitol/EMI … On June 7, the Norwegian-born, Brooklyn-based Sondre Lerche returns with a new self-titled album on Mona Records … Environmentally minded clothing company Patagonia has teamed up with Pearl Jam, Philip Glass, Blitzen Trapper, Sun Kil Moon, Ra Ra Riot, Drive By Truckers, Dawes and many more to form the Patagonia Music Collective, which will sell exclusive tracks for 99 cents each with net proceeds going to the environmental organizations of the artists’ choice … Hard Bargain is Emmylou Harris‘ follow-up to 2008’s All I Intended To Be, and it’s set for an April 26 release on Nonesuch. A deluxe edition of Hard Bargain including a DVD featuring six performances as well as interviews will also be issued … Chad VanGaalen‘s fourth album, Diaper Island, is out May 17 on Sub Pop … The Smithereens are back April 5 with their first LP of new material in a dozen years. The 13-track Smithereens 2011 (yes, that’s the title) was produced by Don Dixon and will be out via eOne Music … Portland, Ore.’s Viva Voce is issuing fifth album The Future Will Destroy You via the Vanguard label June 21 … On April 5, Concord Music Group is reissuing Ray Charles Live In Concert. The 19-track CD features seven previously unreleased songs from Ray Charles‘ September 1964 show at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles … The latest from Justin Broadrick’s Jesu, the 10-song Ascension, is out May 10 on Mark Kozelek’s Caldo Verde Records … Zomes (a.k.a. Asa Osborne of MAGNET faves Lungfish) returns April 12 with the 15-song Earth Grid (Thrill Jockey) … April 19 will bring with it Talahomi Way (Drag City), the latest album from the High Llamas … On March 22, Green Day will issue the live Awesome As Fuck (Reprise), a CD/DVD recorded during the band’s tour in support of the Grammy-winning 21st Century Breakdown … Former 4AD labelmates Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance) and Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) both have forthcoming solo albums: Ark (The End) and Emeralds (Darla), respectively. The duo is also kicking off a two-week, co-headlining U.S. tour May 30 in Washington, D.C. … In June, Sub Pop is reissuing Sebadoh‘s 1994 classic Bakesale with a bonus disc of rare and unreleased material. To celebrate, the reunited trio is doing an East Coast tour staring March 23 in New Haven, Conn. … Steve Earle has released a two-track digital single, “Harlan Man”/“The Mountain,” in support of the public worker unions in Wisconsin, with all profits going to the America Votes Labor Unity Fund … In April, Omar Rodriguez Lopez (Mars Volta, At The Drive-In) is issuing a four-LP/two-CD collection of tracks from his solo and collaborative records. Telesterion includes 37 songs (the vinyl has a bonus track) as well as a 20-page booklet … Thomas Dolby is issuing his first album in two decades, A Map Of The Floating City, this summer, with the three-song Oceanea serving as an appetizer; the EP is out March 28.
