Frenetic folk duo the Dodos will release their fourth full-length, No Color, via Frenchkiss on March 15. “Black Night” opens the collection with a characteristic mix of blast-y, stuttering beats and jarring acoustic picking, oddly compatible intricacies that we’ve loved about the San Francisco-based group since it arrived on the national stage in 2008 with Visiter. Here, Meric Long’s vocal melodies are as strong as ever, lending the otherwise unrelenting jam an emotive quality that complements the pace of the arrangement really nicely. No Color, which, as an aside, prominently features Neko Case, will be supported by a world tour that starts tomorrow in Reno, Nev.
