There are two versions of “So It Goes,” the first single from shape-shifting trio Akron/Family’s upcoming release S/T II: The Cosmic Birth And Journey Of Shinju TNT (out February 8 via Dead Oceans, with the Joyful Noise label issuing it on cassette the same day), floating around cyberspace. The first, available below as an mp3 for download, is as straightforward as the band comes, with a funky guitar riff and sardonic lyricism. However, the cut accompanied by a subtly ingenious music video (watch it after the jump) embeds the uncomplicated track within a profoundly weird cosmic chant. This bodes well for the rest of S/T II.
