Oh snap! Didn’t see Guster there…would have voted for it to. Yay naysayers!

Abysmal list! Boston Spaceships and New Porographers maybe, but the rest…BLECH!!!

My vote is Ariel Pink. Just because a sound and production take is hip at the moment doesn’t make it great. It’s good but largely boring, plus I think I’ve heard this album in twenty different variations over the past couple of years. The National and Arcade Fire are here because no one wants to be the first to admit they were mediocre. But hey, kudos for no Kanye.

Of the albums I’ve heard, I’d have to say Ariel Pink. It’s kind of a shitty record. I have a high respect for creativity and also musicianship and songwriting. It’s almost as if none of that is going on right now.

this is a ‘not’ deserving list to be in top 20 – i cannot believe peeps voted for Superchunk! [Probably a separate thread somewhere but missing for magnet’s top 20 were Soft Pack, Phosphorescent, Male Bonding…to me good candidates to replace Guster, Ariel Pink, and the Walkmen]
