Hard to believe that this marks the 25th anniversary of the first Giant Sand album, Valley Of Rain. The Tucson, Ariz., band has had countless lineups over the years (John Convertino and Joey Burns of Calexico were longtime members), but the one constant has been singer/songwriter Howe Gelb. Giant Sand returns November 23 with Blurry Blue Mountain (Fire), the follow-up to 2008′s ProVisions.
