Film At 11: Cadillac Sky
Nashville-based bluegrass quintet Cadillac Sky is a backwoods, cornbread version of the Decemberists, mingling violin and banjo with distinctive vocals as well as plaid shirts and Rivers Cuomo glasses. The video for “Hangman,” off new album Letters In The Deep (Dualtone), takes you camping in the Appalachian wilderness and guides you back to the cusp of civilization. The band chills with a homeless dude who looks pretty happy with himself, while frontman Bryan Simpson proclaims his insistence on living amid the other four’s harmonious background vocals and banjo picks.
