Canadian minimalist-rock quartet Hot Hot Heat unleashed its new album, Future Breeds (Dangerbird), earlier this month. “21@12” is a disjointedly bright song with some catchy off-beat rhythms. Its video makes you feel like you’re watching the love child of Gumo and Pink Flamingos, but fortunately, just as it begins to get unsettling, the music kicks in and lightens the mood.
