Somewhere between indie folk and neo-soul, Portland, Ore., outfit Jared Mees & The Grown Children are full-fledged fun. Currently at work on their full-length follow-up to 2009′s Caffeine, Alcohol, Sunshine, Money, frontman/visionary Jared Mees hit the road with his bandmates earlier this month on a West Coast tour. In honor of winter’s outro and the onset of spring, the band’s 2010 Tour EP is all parts optimism, jumpy vocals and tongue-in-cheek. In the spirit of reckless abandon and drinking whiskey with friends, tracks like “Shake” are feel good, but not in a cheesy way. An easy-to-love soundtrack for warmer days, Mees and the Grown Children will shake your blues away. Download “Shake” below.
