We are sad to report that Alex Chilton died yesterday in a New Orleans hospital. He was 59 and suffered an apparent heart attack. One of our all-time favorite songwriters, Chilton fronted the Box Tops and Big Star before launching a solo career. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends.
