Pattern Is Movement has been pigeonholed as math rock, and new single “Light Of The World” backs the accusations. Aside from being a drummer’s nightmare—with crazy tempo changes, off-time percussion and an unexpected horn section—the track flows with ease. Andrew Thiboldeaux and Chris Ward’s new work could be an indicator as to what direction the Philadelphia duo is taking for the upcoming full-length they are currently creating.
