Reviving American gothic, Evelyn Evelyn’s self-titled debut (on the Eleven label) is as mysterious as the women behind it. With the help of punk maven Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley, conjoined twins Lyn and Eva Neville have managed to sell out venues prior to their March 30 release. They are former circus performers whose past is as fantastic as fiction. The Neville twins began their solo act at the age of 19, and their affinity for Joy Division and sirens like the Andrews Sisters is evident in their music, resulting in brooding numbers reminiscent of Vaudeville show tunes. The twins’ release is rumored to be accompanied by a graphic novel, which will hopefully shed more light on the enigma of Eva and Lyn.
