I've been a fan of Sparklehorse since Vivadixie came out and was always surprised at how Mark was never able to get the US audience to appreciate how great a songwriter he really was. Definitely sad that there will be no more new Sparkelhorse tunes (outside of the already recorded material slated to drop later on this year). RIP Mark, you were an original and a true master of your craft. You'll be missed.

...making these pix for Magnet...was a cool day, just warm enough to create a sweat when rushing...and you can't rush this man...so I tried to shoot the inbetween moments. Mark and I shot at the Polish-American hall, he was learning 'Sunday Morning Coming Down' on guitar, then walked to the graveyard for sunset. He walked really really slowly. I was afraid we would lose our light. But he could only shuffle...

Sad...sad...sad. Anyone who hasn't already discovered him would surely honor him in some small way by tracking down his songs and playing them for any and all ears. I will always treasure his timeless music and words. R.I.P., Mark.
