Fruit-and-veg whiz kid Allen Clapp of the Orange Peels can knock out a pungent slice of sunshine pop before you can finish your blueberry muffin. Yours for the taking, “The Real You” is a non-LP track he banged out a few weeks ago at Mystery Lawn, his Sunnyvale, Calif., studio. It’s the perfect complement to 2020, the 10-years-ahead-of-its-time new Orange Peels album on Minty Fresh. With a denser ensemble sound that seems like a finely polished cross between the Cars and the Only Ones, 2020 has plenty of Orange Peels zest with none of the pith.

Bah, why so glum in your photo? But love the song though. I can hear this be a TV theme or something.
