This Venice, Calif., collective is pretty darn hard to classify. Inspired by everything from gypsy folk and Americana to bluegrass and jazz swing—and with up to 10 members and a stripped-down sound—the Dustbowl Revival doesn’t exactly follow the fickle path of fashion. And that’s fine by us, because “Falling Down,” from the band’s sophomore album, You Can’t Go Back To The Garden Of Eden (out March 16), is a sweet-hearted ride through Dylanesque melancholy. And it ends with a whistle.
