Film At 11: The Apples In Stereo
Robert Schneider and the Apples In Stereo are a cartoon-y band. They play wonderful, sugary, sunshine-glazed power pop better than anybody. In 2000, the group recorded a song for the Powerpuff Girls cartoon called "Signal In The Sky (Let's Go!)." Now they are lending their sonic sweetness to Yo Gabba Gabba!, an indie-rock-friendly Nick Jr. TV show. In the past, Yo Gabba Gabba! has featured a variety of bands and musicians ranging from Mark Mothersbaugh and the Shins to the Ting Tings and MGMT. Watch this animated clip featuring the Apples In Stereo's "That's My Family" and try not to smile.
