Frontman Richard Sauberlich’s cool and ghostly vocals, paired with lighthearted and upbeat tempos, succeed in forming a stripped-down sound with a dusting of melancholy and a sprinkle of ’80s pop. The London band additionally thrives in its creative lyrical compositions, as on single “Tin Man,” which takes the overused theme of broken hearts in a completely different direction—to Oz, in fact.
