Imaad Wasif has a lot on his plate. Luckily, every item seems to be a delicacy: touring guitarist and solo opening act for artists like the Raconteurs, Neko Case and Yeah Yeah Yeahs; member of Two Part Beast; collaborator with Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Bradford Cox (Deerhunter) and “Little” Jack Lawrence (Raconteurs) on the score for Where The Wild Things Are. Wasif (who’s also on the new album by this week’s guest editor, Lou Barlow) is participating in some impressive ventures. With a haunting Radiohead-esque sound and the addition of more lucid vocals and explosive guitars, “Priestess,” from his new album, The Voidist (due on Tuesday via Tee Pee), proves itself as one such endeavor to be admired.
