On his new album, Watch Me Fall (out now on vinyl, out August 18 on CD; both via Matador), Jay Reatard revisits his years sans Matador deal with a re-recording of “Wounded.” Take two of “Wounded” deviates from Reatard’s usual raw-knuckled approach, featuring upbeat guitar melodies and infectious vocals. Perhaps Watch Me Fall will be the beginning of a new, optimistic era for Reatard. As a bonus, we give you another mp3 from the album: “It Ain’t Gonna Save Me.” (Watch the video.)
