Big Ears: A Festival For The Indoor Kids

The first edition of the
Big Ears Festival will take place in Knoxville, Tenn., on Feb. 6-8. An event created by the co-founder of
Bonnaroo (Ashley Capps), Big Ears has a lineup that caters to experimental and avant-garde music fans. Among the performers are
Antony And The Johnsons,
Philip Glass,
Matmos,
Michael Gira (pictured),
Sparklehorse's Mark Linkous and Scott Minor,
Neil Hamburger,
Dan Deacon and
Negativland. Man, the mud people are gonna be super bummed when they can't find the mosh pit. Festival tickets are $195 for the weekend and include access to all participating venues, which include the 100-year-old
Bijou Theater, the
Knoxville Museum of Art and local nightclub
Pilot Light.
