When I first started dating my X husband, he'd just come off tour playing bass with Doug....however talented he may have been, and he was all that they say....none of the stories Pete ever told me would lend me to believe he was a nice guy! I remember that when they played Long Island and my in laws went to hear them, Doug introduced the entire band, but very pointedly did not mention thier son. The phrase don't bogart that joint must have been coined by someone in his band, because he wouldn't share, he said, because he'd smoked so long it took him more pot to get high! And, he really loved that band the Boozecocks, but who can argue with that? She's about a mover, Mendocino....I loved his music even if he was what you might call cussed. I only saw him once, but it was great. Good article, thanks
